I love Molly!

Each and every Molly mystery is filled with historical information, which is fed ever so lightly and creates a realistic flavor. The characters are well developed, the stories well plotted and each a treasure in its own right. I read these 9 books in just 3 weeks. Once started, I couldn't stop! I am happy I read them in order, and you may want to consider this as well. Enjoyable Historical Debut

Molly Murphy has just been given a get out of jail free card. Running because she's accidentally killed a man, she's offered the chance to take a woman's place on a boat bound for America. Once on board, she encounters a rude man and has a very public fight with him. When that man is murdered on Ellis Island, Molly finds herself and a new friend among the chief suspects. Frightened she might be sent back to face the hangman, she decides to find the real killer on her own. But can this new arrival find the killer in New York City when she doesn't know her way around and doesn't know anyone?
Molly is a head strong character who leaps first and considers the consequences later. It was fun watching her try to get herself out of several sticky situations. The setting, 1901 New York City, is brought to life, and I enjoyed learning a bit more about the time and place. My only real complaint is that the book took a while to get started. The plot starts slowly, but it picks up speed as it goes along.
As a fan of this author's Constable Evans books, I'm looking forward to reading more about Molly as well. There is potential here for another great series with another interesting setting. Write on, Ms. Bowen!

Fun mystery with Irish girl in Old New York

Murphy's Law by Rhys Bowen is the first book in the Molly Murphy mystery series. After accidentally killing a land owner, Molly Murphy must flee Ireland to avoid the gallows. She soon finds herself caught up with another family on their way to America, but once at Ellis Island, she's suspected of being involved with another murder, and the only way to clear her name is by finding the real killer. Bowen keeps things simple without extraneous detail, but her descriptions still shine, and Molly is a real character. There are no pretensions in Miss Murphy: she wants to live the good life, and she's not afraid to break a few rules to find it. I find Daniel Sullivan, the police detective in charge of the case, a little too good to be true, but future books will prove his worthiness for Molly. Molly is not a great detective, constantly putting herself in danger, leaping before looking, making all sorts of assumptions, but she's always entertaining.

Feel the need for "Speed"

Great 2nd love story that has race car themes in the story. I enjoyed reading about Axel & Kayla. Their parents got married when they were in teens and their parents’ marriage was brief but full of turmoil. Kayla was in love with Axel then but he didn’t see her..then their parent divorced. Fast forward 10 years and Kayla is working in a magazine and Axel is a upcoming Indy driver. Kayla comes back into Axel’s world thru an interview. What an interview- there is passion and angst. Poor Kayla, that unrequited love for Axel is slowly killing her but Axel looks to be waking up to seeing there is more t Kayla
There is a great flow to this story from the opening page to the end of the story. I enjoyed reading about Axel’s story along with Kayla’s and the supporting characters – everything had a place and nothing was disruptive. Oh and the sex scenes were sooo hot. This ex step brother story is wonderful. I would really call this a 2nd chance love story –Axel is one hot dominant man and Kayla is a sassy , sensitive lady. I cannot wait to see what the author has next.

Car-racing and heart-racing

Racing and love make a thrilling combination. This new novella by stepbrother romance specialist Stephanie Brother is the perfect morsel when you're in the mood for a second chance at love.

Axel and Kayla were family for a year, then lost contact as he became a new star in the indie-cars racing world and she ended up working for a magazine. An interview brings them together, and memories and lust spark up an unstoppable heat between them.

I enjoyed that little ruse that allows them to cross paths again. In particular, I liked that their emotions were genuine and strong, inspiring them to reassess their lives and how they had conducted themselves up till then. There's some tension, some thrills because of Axel's career as a racing car driver and other issues, and a beautiful encounter when they finally give in to their feelings and share a scene of passion. Very nicely written and it left me a sweet, loving taste.

I really loved this book

I really loved this book. Stephanie's writing style is to be admired. The characters were awesome, the plot was even better. Kayla and Axel had a rough start, but after a fer misunderstandings they finally found each other. Racing, lust, love and family. Wow! I recieved an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

I am awaken

The words are too precious and sacred to be read silently and kept in your head. Each poem is meant for you to read to someone special in your life, or meant to be read to you by someone you have loved or have loved you or hurt you. The words are a beautiful lullaby, softly spoken, in whispers, but with burning emotions. The words are a graceful song, but surely not to put you to sleep. Instead, they are words that awaken your soul, heals and hammers your heart. Regardless if they are calm or painful, the words remind you that you are alive and able to feel all these emotions. They remind you to stay awake for love.

Her works moved me and I totally relate to all her poems.. Ever since I bought the love and misadventures I said I won't miss this one. I can't wait for Faudet's book..
